I've fallen...can I get up?

Well, not literally.  Last year, with the help of a few challenges (and wonderful sketches), I exceed my scrapbook layout goal of 52 - which was one a week.  I must have been a bit of an overachiever when I set the bar at 60 for 2012.  Ask me how many I have gotten done...4!  Looks like I need to get my butt in gear!  Take a peek at the a few I have finished:

Here is my son at a birthday party at a gymnastics facility.  They had a pit filled with these blue, square foamy blocks that the kids could jump into.  This is where he spent the majority of his time, needless to say.

Soccer started back up for us yesterday so I figured I needed to get something done with the pictures from the Fall season...see?  I told you I was way behind.  Don't judge me!  LOL...

This little soccer star was not only named MVP of his team, but he was also the team high scorer.  I was a proud mommy because this was only his second season of soccer, the first being a bit of a waste of my money with the YMCA.  However, he really flourished and we are going to keep at it!

I have many more fabulous pictures to work with, including ones from his birthday, as promised!  I am going to try to atleast get to where I am supposed to be if I were on track....I think thats something like maybe 15-20 layouts.  I can do it...I can do it!!!

   Wish me luck...SMOOCHES!

Happy New Year!

I am completely aware that I am 3 months late in wishing you all a Happy New Year.  It is March.  Are your resolutions still in tact?  I, for one, am still working out diligently to try to get atleast 5-10 pounds of this bad weight off of me before my 20th year class reunion rolls around in April!  Yes, I said 20 years out of high school...where has the time gone?

Speaking of which, my little one had a bday last month and I'm sitting here wondering where did THAT time go?  I had a blast planning his super hero themed party!  He had an awesome cake that I found online and had an amazing cake lady recreate for me:

I also ordered him a fabulous cape off of ETSY that he wouldn't wear, but it was cute.  It came with a mask and cuffs as well:

I found some great  Spiderman lunch sacks that I used as goodie bags.  I filled them with Super Hero themed candies, card games, coloring cards, and snacks:

My sister in law made some water bottles that went along with the theme nicely and I made sure everyone wore some sort of Super Hero shirt or costume!  The kids had a blast and he had an awesome bday!

I ended up getting some awesome pictures from the event!  Not as many as I want, but enough to create  few wonderful layouts and perhaps a cute little mini album!

Check me out...I'm a digital girl!

Yes, we are living in a digital world, and I am now a digitial girl!  Take a look at my very first digital creation made using the My Memories Suite digital scrapbooking software:

I have been wanting to try digital scrapbooking for a long time now, but never knew where to start.  I've often commented on many digital layouts on sb.com, but never was steered in any direction.  Then entered Liz at My Memories Suite!

My Memories Suite is a digital scrapbooking software that is not only super simple to use, but has a large variety of gorgeous digital papers and embellishments!  I spent hours admiring the digital items, but only 10 minutes to create my first digital layout!  I am so excited about this software that I want to gift a copy to one of my followers!  Are you as excited as I am yet?

Go here:

and take a look around.  Come back here to my blog and comment, letting me know what your favorite digital paper pack is for one entry into the giveaway.  Be careful, you can easily be there for hours!

Want an extra entry?  Go to the My Memories blog or like them on Facebook or even follow them on Twitter for extra entries!  Just let me know that you've done that and I'll give you up to 3 extra opportunities to win the software!

I will randomly select a winner on Sunday, November 20, 2011 at 10pm from everyone who comments.
While you are doing that, I will be busy creating more digital creations!

October brings super cute things!

As promised, here are some of the projects I completed last month - some mini albums, a TON of layouts and a few tags for a swap.  Here is something I did for jenniferd1009's swap on sb.com.  It is a chinese noodle box with the teeniest, tiniest mini album to accompany it!  I used all scraps to create this:

Here is another mini album I made using DCWV papers (my absolute favorite line of papers!)  It was created using the teeny tiny paper bags...you know, the ones we used to get our candy in from the local candy store back in the day.  Do you remember or am I aging myself?

I used my cricut machine to cut out "All Boy."  I then inked the title with white pigment ink to give it that "dusty" look.  The robot is a Recollections dimensional sticker.  The rest of the embellishments were just laying around!  Here is one of the pages in the mini paper bag album:

This is a picture of my son...the super star!  I took this picture of him last fall.  He still looks the exact same!  he is such a little poser.  I used the Twinkle, Twinkle Little Boy Stack for the entire album.

Check out some of the tags I made for my friend Martica's swap on sb.com:

The only criteria for the tags were that they needed to have a dressform on it, and of course be elaborately decorated.  I actually had a difficult time creating five different tags, but in the end they looked like little parisian boutiques!  Most of them had quotes by CoCo Chanel on them...all of them had ribbons and trims.

I can't wait to see the tags I get back...until then, SMOOCHES!

I've been a bad, bad girl...

I've done a terrible, horrible thing. I am absolutely a no good, dirty, rotten scapdrel! I CANNOT belive that I have not updated my blog in OVER a year! What the (bleep) is wrong with me? Its not that I don't have anything to show you because I have been scrapping my heart out and then some! I've bought tons of scrappy goods, I've been trying to organize my scrap spot...I've got to do better...don't I? Don't answer that.

I guess since I am the biggest slacker in the land that I need to catch you up with what has been going on with me! I've had a really good year on my new job...I take that back, I had a FANTASTIC year! We started the school year in August and it has (by far) been the smoothest school year ever! My son is getting taller by the second and continues to amaze me academically and socially. He is four, yet he is currently wearing size 5 clothes. He is also in the "top" group at his school...yeah, they do it in Pre-school as well! He just started soccer again too, so get ready for some cool soccer layouts and projects! I have to brag and tell you that at his first soccer game, he scored all of the points his team had! I was sooo proud of him! Lastly, I've had a boyfriend for 6 months now...thats definitely new! Hmph, what else...OH...I have been rocking out some great layouts for the past month! I can't wait to show you.

Back in January, I made a personal goal to do 52 layouts for the year. I figured doing a layout a week wouldn't be much of a hassle...until August rolled around and I had only completed a whopping 16! Not so good. Well, you would be glad to know that as of today, I have completed a total of 43 layouts. WOO HOO! That means I am actually on track to exceed that goal of 52! I am really excited about that!  Here are a few of them that I absolutely adore:

Currently, I am working on an amazing paper bag mini album. I was inspired by Kathy Orta, the YouTube Queen of amazing mini albums! If you have not seen her work, you have to go and check her out! She makes you feel like you can do anything! I am also working on these teeny, tiny noodle boxes and mini albums for some of my friends at work. I learned how to make them in a swap and have been churning them out since! Check back in a couple of days to get a peek of all of it!

Until then...SMOOCHES!

Check out my new minis...

Just when I thought I would get a break from swapping, here comes Ms. Missy with her cute little cup sleeve mini swap! I hadn't made these in a while and decided it was just the thing I needed to take part in to start back up my creative juices! Now it's my new fascination, as I plan to make more until I just can't stand it!

This is my boy themed mini. It was made using a paper pack I got from Big Lot's. It came with a bunch of cool papers, stickers, and other embellishments that I was able to use throughout the mini.

This is my girl themed mini album. It is an accordian style mini. The entire mini is done in pink, green and black. I used houndstooth felt on the front and back cover and collaged a bunch of other stuff I could find.

This one has to be my favorite. It is for the vintage category. I used Mariposa scraps of scraps (lol), as this paper just doesn't seem to want to go away! It is a very thick accordian mini filled with a variety of embellishments and sweet elements, including this puzzle piece that I made for my Mariposa swap. It is actually very hard for me to give this one away...I am going to try to duplicate it for myself.

Just in time for the Halloween season is this sweet little "BOO" mini. It too has a lot of cute elements inside including foam embellishment and some cute little tags here and there.

I can't wait to see the minis I get in return!  There are some fabulous scrappers involved in this swap.  SMOOCHES!

The End is HERE!

Back in August I never thought I would see this day. However, my last day for the school year is very near and I am super excited about all the time I will have off to do whatever I want! Not only will I get to spend some extra time with my son, trotting around in this Texas heat, but I will also get to take more pictures...and more pictures mean more projects! I've already set up the social calendar up for next week which includes a splash day at a waterpark, the zoo, storytime at the library and the Children's Museum...and on Friday, HH for me! :-) Oh yeah! Stay tuned for more incredible summer inspired projects and layouts! Stay cool!  SMOOCHES!
